Yeah I'm back again! This one is a short post due to the lack of pictures taken during the project. So I thought to do a quick shout out post! This cute picture was taken by my friend/roomie Kaeli. She's just the cutest and really quite talented with the camera. Send her some love on Instagram: @kaeliwphotography &/or on FB: Kaeli Wiltbank Photography.
This final was a doozy. We were assigned to find a magazine picture of an interior space and copy it exactly. We could use any materials we needed to, just as long as we made it look just like the original copy. Man, I didn't know what I was getting myself into with the picture I chose.
The first thing I did was copied it onto tracing paper (foder) and then I made several copies of it, just with the huge copy machine. Then I got to work.
I don't have many pictures of the different steps of this project, sadly. But I basically had to hunt for the right marker as a base first and then layer and build on top of it to make it look like the correct color. I really got to learn my colors with this project. And shadows. Who knew?! Not me, well now I do. This project really opened my eyes. Firstly, it takes a lot of patience. Secondly, you must have a steady hand, which can be very difficult. Thirdly, sit directly under a light, Natural light is preferred because then you will have the desired color. And lastly, it's ok to make mistakes. Really. If it doesn't work the first time, start over. It's really ok. Haha.
Well after a lot of stress and lots of lost patience, here is the end result! I bet you can't even tell the original right? Riiiigggghhhtt. *Kronk's voice*. I definitely need to work on my rendering skills. It is a skill that must be regularly practiced, that's for sure. I loved this class! It is probably my favorite class so far.
xoxo,
Meagan
